Every year the Pike County Sheriff's Office fingerprints the kindergarteners in each school in the county. We will be going to each school this week and next week. The sheriff's office has been fingerprinting kindergarteners with Child Identification Kits for the past 24 years and have fingerprinted 10,000 children during this time. The kits are provided for parents and include information such as medical, personal and physical information, recent photo, dental records and DNA hair sample in addition to fingerprints. Also, we have fingerprinted children at daycares and Vacation Bible Schools around the county. It is something that we look forward to doing each year.
